At this point I connect the Kindke via USB and see that the BIN file is no more present. I copy the BIN file again and try to update, but find the same error.

This Duokan seems to be harder than expected
( And it does not need any jailbreak )

1. Check the size of .rar file you downloaded. It should be 39.6Mb. ( if not, try download again and check filesize )

2. Delete the DK_System folder. Copy the new unpacked DK_System folder you downloaded to the Kindle. Place "update_duokan_0b008.bin" in your root.

3. Restart

4. When it starts up again, keep an eye on the screen. You don't want to miss the Duokan Boot screen where you need to press "Q"

------------

A few notes: - if you didn't have a Duokan installed before this last version, you may try to install the previous first ( see post #514 ) - and when you are in Duokan, do the steps above with this last version. When you eject(safely remove the device) - you will wait for some time until the system comes up again. ( you do not need to restart, it will update automatically )

You also restart in an ctrl-alt-del fashion - try holding the power-button while you count to 30 before you release it.
( when you have counted to around 8, the led may turn off - but keep holding it and count ) Again, don't miss the boot screen, where you have to press "Q"

In (2) - notice that you use a "fresh" DK_System folder. You may receive errors if you only place an "update_duokan_0b008.bin" in your root, without doing so - because during the update, it rearrange several files in the folder, and delete some needed during the update.

Enjoy the new version
