In fact it doesn't work on the Mac even if you have WM and other such media players installed. I'll try it on my Windows/Linux laptop later.

This is OT, but since you did link to the vid: How is it that even by 1987, the bartender can't be a member of Rick's aerobics-obsessed country club but has to position his secret overqualified dance leaps off the counter? It would be fun to hear what the snarkers at Racialicious thought about that.

Interesting that Rickrolling evolved into more formidable forms of social protest.
