@chcheng_rwth: Yep, autohint should be the fastest rendering option, light does a bunch of processing on top, and bci, well, handles the bytecode language.
@commandercup: The DejaVu Sans package in the first post uses DejaVu Sans everywhere. DejaVu Sans Mono is the monospace font, not the sans-serif one.
(Unless you were reading TXT/HTML files, in which case, yeah, the monospace fonts is used. In that case, check the first post for what do to to use your own fonts if you want to use DejaVu Sans Mono everywhere).
