Dutch mobile ebook service: Movels

Dutch publisher Gottmer Uitgevers Groep is launching a mobile e-books service called Movels. The company’s website (www.movels.eu) doesn’t explain much about the technology other than that movels are an application you can download and install on recent (they claim mobiles that have been released in past two years) mobile phones. It seems the text length is limited. Features include 3 font sizes, white on black or black on white, landscape or portrait, bookmarks (the software will remember your place when you receive a call too) and a progress report. The catalogue doesn’t look all that large yet and I could only find Dutch novels. The price for a movel is EUR 4.50 (three premium SMSs of EUR 1.50) which you only have to pay after chapter one. They’re also calling on writers to publish stories with them under a revenue share agreement.
