@geoff: yeah, it seems so. my parents have always thought of me as the idealistic one (thus, their conclusion is that i'm immature and that i haven't really seen 'reality' yet. well, i've seen it and want no part of it), and thus they're so over-protective of me. i don't think i'm that idealistic, but yeah, it's kind of what is holding me back from going into the finance industry. i don't want to become part of the system. it's like organized crime. i don't think i would ever have peace of mind. i just want to be able to earn enough to live comfortably and read. i don't know why my parents have a hard time understanding that.
