I think it would be smart for the next Kindle to be an updated DX.
The dx already has no competitor as far as being pretty much the only around with a large e-ink display. But yes they seriously need 1) because without good PDF support it's kind of hard to justify buying it, unless you have low vision and need the size. 2) would be nice. 3) isn't it already thinner and lighter than the iPad 2? I'd be shocked if not, since it doesn't need the large battery and doesn't have a large piece of glass in front and stiff metal body.
