In Edmonton where I grew up, there was a homeless guy that would walk into a bank every fall and demand a loony ($1 coin ) from the teller, after the teller gave him the coin he would go sit outside and wait for the police to come pick him up for his 6 month stay in the heated jail

The last time he pulled this the teller gave him a dollar from her own pocket and he left as always to wait to be picked up by the first patrol car that came. He waited for a half an hour and got concerned that the police weren't coming, so he went back into the bank and demanded more money, this time the bank manager called the police, he was picked up again. This homeless gentleman lived on the streets of Edmonton for more than 20 years and spent his last days in the city lock up, he was happy, he had food and friendly company.

The moral of the story is that no matter how bad it gets there's always a solution if you think about it.
