I serialise mine on a website and ask for donations. I've had one so far, which is enough for me to think I'm not just wasting my time. What you would need to go down that route would be some incentive for people to donate. Extra content, or something else that they would think was worth having. I don't think just holding your hand out and scratching yourself is going to work.

I'm thinking of free ebook versions for donators, available as soon as the story starts being serialised, and maybe more cliff-hanger chapter endings. So anyone who doesn't want to wait until next week can pay and read straight away. But once a story is over on the website the ebook version can go on the pirate sites and hopefully draw in people to the website for the next one.

My main problem is my target audience only likes analogue books. Most of them still buy vinyl records.
