One thing to be careful of is the battery, I use mine exclusively on my laptop and am always putting everything in the bag and when I first got the mouse I forgot to switch it off, if you do this your battery life will be short, a month or so. When switching it off I get an average of 3 months +/- on a new Energizer battery. I did use rechargeable batteries and I wasn't impressed with them, they weren't new so that could have been this issue.
The sensor works great on every surface except clear glass, my office table has clear glass and I have to use a mousepad (piece of white paper

). It also doesn't work well on a cat, but then this is more because of the cats movements
