I have a delimma. I have an iPad which suite my reading needs fantastically. 95% of the time I read indoors where the iPad screen is gorgeous. 4.9% of the time I read outside in my back yard in the shade, just fine.
But in a couple weeks I'm off to Florida with my family for a nice beach side spring break. 3 days of reading time in the lovely Florida sun (I hope). Alas, I've entered into the .1% of the time where I actually NEED to be able to read in full sun light.
Then I discovered an amazing device that for $8 allows me to read in the full sun light. I'm here to let you fine folks also benefit from my knowledge. Turns out these devices have been on sale longer than the iPad original, let alone the iPad 2.
It's called a "paperback book". Yep. For $8 I can buy a paperback book and read it at the beach. I hear the batter lasts even longer than the kindle. And at $8, I'm not concerned about it getting some sand in it or even getting it a bit wet.
Now, as I read kindle books on my iPad all the time, I could spend $139 and buy a kindle to read those books during those 3 days. But really, I think I'll settle for the $8 solution to meet this .1% of my reading needs.
