Have you tried "eject", wait some seconds, and then "safely remove" ?
Does that change the situation ?

Edit: On Vista 64x myself, and I don't dare connect K3 to my company windows 7 laptop.
It will encrypt all USB drives if you're nor carefull. So I WONT test that ;-D
