@Nyssa, @NiLuJe - We missed a basic check of asking what the report said about the collection - and it was saying changes were 'None (due to never delete/modify pattern' - so the plugin would not overwrite the existing collection of 5 books with the new collection of 7 books. The never delete pattern was '|>>>>Currently Reading', and of course '|' is a special pattern character meaning match either the stuff on the left or the stuff on the right of '|'. And it matched the blank stuff on the left.
I knew regex patterns would confuse things.
In the test version in the earlier post I've added a test for this specific case and put back a test for special characters and a warning in the report to make this easier to spot.
@nynaevelan - as per PM we'll continue to test. The test version now has code that checks the Personal doc tag against the tags for Calibre books - no point in us searching for something the plugin can tell you.
