helping people through the crisis in Japan
I know many (most?) of us have the inclination to help in whatever fashion that we can during crisis. I spent years going from one disaster to another with my dogs hoping to just get one more victim out. some people feel that they can best help behind the scenes and want to set up one. more. charity.
PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS!!!! please do not encourage or even be complacent with people who want to do this!!! whereas there may be incredibly good intentions of people who think that they have an entirely new and different way of approaching disaster recovery... they are wrong! the valid agencies that are up and running have stood the test of time. they've made the mistakes, they've established the infrastructure, they "get it". you, or your best buddy may have the next great idea of charitable giving, but now is not the time!
if you do not like the mission statement of one of the biggies, then move on to another. I am certain that somewhere/somehow you will find a good portal for your donations.
