Hopefully Kobo has stopped making the desktop vers 1.9 update available until they issue a fix for it.

I can't imagine anyone with a lot of books would be too happy having every one of them bookmarked in the desktop application so that when they sync their reader it downloads every book they own.

Or am I the only one using the desktop?
