You probably did not follow the full instructions. Hard to know where or what went wrong.

You need to first install the jailbreak for YOUR specific kindle. You find the xxx.bin file and place it in the root of your k3. Then you use the Menu to Install Update (Home, menu, settings, menu, install update).

Then you do the same for the screensaver hack. Correct bin file onto k3. Install Update like noted above.
