yes, I agree, I believe my iPad 1 shipped directly from China. I was surprised! Silly me, thought it was coming from Cupertino! LOL

Lots of electronics do come from Japan so I expect not only will supply be diminished but costs to the consumer will go up as well.

So sad for Japanese people, I wish them God Speed and strength. Since we live on the west coast, it got my hubby and me talking again about stratagies for survival. We don't live near the ocean but we are in a strong eathquake area and only a mile from the Columbia river, elevation 100 feet. A huge surge up the river could potentially be threatening. Luckily if a tsunomi were to hit Seaside (our nearest coastal town, 20 miles away), we would have time to literally "head for the hills". It's always good to have a emergency plan and most importantly, supplies!
