If public library books is not a most, get the Kindle. Up to 1 month of battery life, 8 oz, International support and great and huge online bookstore like Amazon.

I had a Nook, sold it and bought a Kindle, zero regrets! Same exact books on Amazon for less or same price.
ahhh you just love thinking this Pearl screen is the most advance latest and greatest technology we have seen in the past decade.

reality check joey, its only a bump in contrast ratio, somethin Kindle had to build all new hardware around.

the nook accomplished this with just a little update.

Screens are on par, and yet the nook didn't have to build an entire new device, though I must admit they did have to ditch the uglyness that was the K2 so I don't exactly blame Amazon on that one.

To the OP, pay no mind to JOey he for whatever reason hates, HATES I mean he HATES Barnes and Noble, so his views are a toss, he's got an agenda against them. Trust me on this I am by far not the only one who has noticed this.

but to your question I go Nook over the kindle for many reasons

1. If you have a BN near by you take advantage of the 'more in Store" features, that gives you in store coupons, Starbucks deals, and reading any book in store etc.

2. expandable memory card slot, very usefull if you want to put audio books, music and podcast on

3. replacable battery. ( kindle your battery wears down, you have to send it in) Nook head out to the store and you are all set.

4. Nook accesories are some of if not the best out there.

5. the touchscreen, I love it, I love seeing my bookcover art and the scrolling feels more at home since i own a droid. Also you get the feel for it, the connection between the lcd and eink, once you get the feel for the flow, it becomes actually quite pleasing and enjoyabe.

I also love the page swiping option. more of a natural flow when reading as opposed to the clicking of a button. when the screen goes dark you just lightly graze your finger across the lcd screen and that turns your pages back and forth. It's nice.

6. Just a much better looking device

7. and reason you mentioned ePub and the ability to shop anywhere on the web and take advantage of many many discounted books sales, Kobo bookstore is just the best in terms of deals. and oh yeah that whole library thing.

8. in store support, if you have any questions, issues or problems.

Good luck to you
