I just finished indie author K.E. Redmond's novel
What Time Forgets: The Daughters of Ard Creggan. I've never really given independent authors much of a shot, so I fully expected
atrocious (sorry, I know that's very judgmental of me) but ended up with
pleasantly enjoyable instead. Sure, I tripped over some awkward pacing or prose on rare occasions, but overall... I liked the characters and the story enough to keep reading. And I loved the price-tag. This won't be the last unknown I take a chance on.
I rambled a little more about this scifi/fantasy/speculative hybrid on my website.
I'm currently catching up on some short stories from Ray Gun Revival, Lightspeed, and James Schmitz' Telzey Amberdon collection.
