Lots of good recommendations in here, thanks! i've been reading all the other can't decide posts as well and after sleeping on it, the nook is out for me. I agree with not having the latest technology which i usually hate, but i could have lived with that, it it performed more consistently. This leaves the Kindle or a Sony reader. Not really a bad word about either in terms of their performance

Have you considered the Etaco Jet Book Lite and a Kobo? There are a lot more readers out there then just the ones that you considered, why limit the competition that much?

I have looked at others, but have narrowed it down to these 2. i really did explore all options was just trying to keep this as simple as possible, and these were the ones that made the most sense for me...
What this really boils down to for me, is the Amazon store and Library Books. I like the idea of buying from multiple places and library checkouts, however i also like that i can go to one streamlined place (amazon) and pretty much find whatever i need. Are library books an overrated argument? Are there many new titles, and do they update the selection frequently? I know availability can be sketchy.
Also, i hear the sony store isn't in the same league as amazon. i know there are others, however if Sony had access to B&N store that would have been a major plus. With that being said, if I decided on a Sony, i would opt for the PRS -650. I probably wouldn't shop in the sony store most of the time, hence no need for Wi-Fi. If i opted for kindle i would certainly use Wi-Fi.
Last question and i will leave it at that. I know you can hack the kindle to use custom wallpapers etc. is there also a hack to view book covers instead of a list? would be an added bonus, though not a necessary one.
