In the hotel where I spent my skiing holidays, I had a totally new thing, for me at least. They were tiny red strings, of raw vegetable material, maybe 3 inches long, resistant and with a sharp tangy flavor. I had them twice, as a decoration in a tiny entree, and a bunch of those, just once, in the mixed salad I had every evening. Upon questioning I was told that they are red beets sprouts. Delicious and so fancy. I could not find any picture of those. My cooking guru sort of hinted of having seen them somewhere sometime. You?
BTW, in the mixed salad I counted 15 different kind of things. Amazing. I want to eat like that always. I need a cook, and of course the financial means.
For the last supper I had warm freshly smoked fillets of trout over a bed of buttered spinaches and strips of dried pears. Decoration with paper thin round slices of dried red beets.
I like to cook myself, but eating food prepared by a team of cooks under the leadership of a genius is so much better! He is German by the way. Everyday before starting to work, the whole team groups up and they sing a song. Whow. Maybe I just made this up.
Next reincarnation I want to be millionaire, though.
