Good, basic question. Yes. The main attraction for me was backlighting but, since rooting, it's far more practical than the original. I can take notes in meetings, run my email, and lots of other task that make it more a tab than a reader. But for reading, using Aldiko, it's way better than stock. Of course I have difficult removing the DRM from some BN books to move them to Aldiko so I still use the stock reader but even then it's great. No complaints at all.
