Most large companies have a tech budget. If they don't spend all the money, they'll just have to give the money back and, the horror, maybe have it reduced next year. So you betcha they're going find something new and shiny to spend the money on.
Especially the management/exec folks. They'll have no problem justifying the cost of one measly tablet that is not even a business class cross country ticket.

My reply that you quoted was in response to somebody claiming that the playbook was going to be expensive just because they hadn't yet announced the actual prices, since then they still haven't confirmed prices but have been quoted as saying it would be competitively priced and one mentioned under $500, so regardless of needing to use budgets up or anything like that they it is not going to be overly pricey after all.
