When I decided on the 650, it was pretty much a case of elimination. I ruled out a Kindle because I thought it was a crappy piece of hardware, and the Nook was too heavy, and I was concerned about the battery life. I had joined the Kindlebook forum and the NookBook forum long before arriving here.
I'm the one exception out of everyone I know that has eReaders.

I agree that most of those that don't bother doing any research end up with an impulse buy $99 dollar department store cheapy reader or a Kindle.
That's why I made a distinction between Sony and the Kindle and other readers in my previous comments.
I think that MOST
Sony buyers end up with a Sony because they have done their research first.
Sure there are probably a few idiots that bought Sony readers because they ARE the most expensive, or because they heard that Martha Stewart, or Opra has one "and thats
all I need to know", but in the
majority of cases I think some research is involved.
And anyone who Googles around a bit is going to end up here pretty quickly.
