I wouldn't recommend the Kindle if your buying any books or textbooks from anywhere other than Amazon. Have you tried to start a claim on the ones that stopped working by themselves? A common problem is that the connector will come undone (not your fault) and they will replace it, The costumer service is great, Kobo is a separate company from Borders, and Borders is still keeping CS for the Kobo.
