The reading experience is pretty equal between the two readers in my opinion. I don't think a person can go wrong with either device. I rate the Kindle a little ahead of my nook and that's because of the battery life. I'm not one who remembers to charge a device everyday so the Kindle is what you'll usually spot me toting around town.

I do like the nook's way of organizing books a little better. I'm not sure if it's because I owned the nook first or what but I really like that the books are tucked away in "my library" and are not dumped on a page like they are on the Kindle. Until you organize it into collections, the Kindle library pages can look a bit messy since it's mixed with games and other content.
