It took me forever -- several days and many hours -- but I snagged nearly 100 ebooks at Smashwords over the past few days. From my perspective, the authors who have written a series (or at least multiple volumes) and who gave the first in the series free during eBook Week were smart. I was interested in quite a few of these series but at $4.95 and up (regular price) I was unwilling to buy the unknown. And, yes, I am aware of the samples, but what happens is that I download the sample and if I don't get to it right away, I forget it is a sample and end up deleting it thinking it is a short story, which I don't like to read. Anyway, I'm looking forward to adding a whole swath of new authors to my Smashwords buying as a result of this week's promotions.
