I have heard a lot of great thing about the nook. Although I have this little thing about proprietary anything, my pals in IT tell me - proprietary bad - open standards good. So far the only reader that has offered me the open standards is my blackberry, it has readers for Amazon, Borders, Mobipocket and Barns and Nobles and I am going to add one from Kobo. Although it does have the problem that I am forced to read on such a small screen.
