Maybe not what you're looking for, but I really enjoyed _Solomon Kane_ by Robert E. Howard --- the protagonist is quite religious.
Also good would be historical fiction of a religious bent, most of Henty's books (many of which are here) --- just finished _In Freedom's Cause_.
