I don't know if this will help but let me lay out what I did.

I used DiskAid and found the Kindle App for iPhone. Within the various folders is one called Library, under that is a folder entitled "ebooks". This is where I dropped the ebook I wanted to synch.

Once I did that - everything synched up. Is this where you are putting the books you want to use to go back and forth between iPhone and Kindle?

I did not use the mobi2mobi app, so I cannot give you any thoughts on that tool however, I know others have used it.

Once I read on the iPhone, I come out of the book and the iPhone saves to the furthest location. I go to my Kindle and once in the book, I click on "Synch to Furthest Location" and it will indicate where I left off on the iPhone which now is working and gives the correct location.

I think the trick to this whole thing is placing the ebook in the correct folder under the iPhone app. I noticed in one of your earlier posts you indicated you created this folder, it should already be there. That is what I believe allows the Kindle app to "think" it is using a Amazon book. I hope this helps because I understand the need to want to get something to work. Good Luck!

P.S. For the record, this didn't work on one of my books, but tried it on another and worked fine.

One last thing, did you convert your books again in the latest version of Calibre, because as of version 7.something (don't remember, might be version 7.46 or 7.47) Calibre now adds automatically the ASIN which is what Amazon uses for synching. I didn't do this at first, and that was one of the problems.

Re-convert the book in the latest version of Calibre to ensure it adds the ASIN and then try to re-load to the above ebook folder under your Kindle for iPhone app. I am in the process of re-converting my entire library for this one field.
