User-added books sound like a nice addition, though I guess it would have to be mainly non-DRM stuff so that patrons wouldn't have to deal with "authorization" issues.

I was thinking that if the library had a secondary set of e-readers that just contained public domain and promo freebie giveaways (Baen, etc.), then they might be able to field more e-readers to their patrons if they didn't have to load up each and every one with those top 10 "bestsellers" and their accompanying licenses.
