Yes! It downloads the .mobi and goes straight into your homescreen. This is incredibly convenient! I'm not sure if it's native in Kindle or this hack enabled it tough, but I think it has to do with the hack.
Kindle already lets you download .mobi (and several other formats) from the web browser. The free downloads hack allows you to download other file types such as PDF.
