Did you read about how they 'mature' it? Apparently they bury it in something akin to compost piles, turning it when required to keep it from breaking down too much... I found the 'compost pile' reference to be right in keeping with the taste of most of the sample pu-erhs that I received from NBT. I was fortunate in that I only ordered sample packets and not 100g containers of each!
I have a bag of cheap unbranded touchas that I bought in a Chinese shop that make a nice cup of pu-erh. But they are only something that I would want to drink when I'm making Chinese food for dinner, just to keep me in the mood. Actually, for that I prefer Tsingtao beer!
