Thank you all so much. I'm 30 years old and this is the first time I've lost anyone I loved. I never knew any of my grand parents. My parents are still alive. I grew up as an Army brat, so had no long-term friendships. I've never been to, or even been invited to a funeral. Some people would say I've had a blessed life, to have never felt this pain before ... I just think it makes it harder.
Nothing in life has prepared me for what this would feel like. I have such a deep compassion now for anyone who has lost someone. I finally understand.
