Okay, in order to do that, you'll probably want to set a tweak to ensure that books you add in the future automatically get the correct author_sort value. In preferences->tweaks (look at the bottom of the page), look for a tweak called "Author sort name algorithm". You'll want to set that to "copy" (It's probably set to invert, look in the lower right pane and replace "invert" or whatever is behind the equal sign with "copy". Restart Calibre. That way, if you put LN, FN in the authors field, the author_sort field will copy the value.
The more difficult part is getting the existing books to conform to this. If you already have set your author field to LN, FN it's easy: Rightclick on the authors category in the tags browser (left pane), select manage authors, click on recalculate author_sort values in the dialog that pops up. If you haven't set the author field to your liking, it will be a little more complicated- in that case, I'd advise using the bulk metadata edit search and replace feature to change the authors. If you have to do the latter and need help doing it, post back with some examples of what is in your author_sort and author fields (If you have different combinations of LN and FN, listing those with examples help) and I'll try to give you advice on how to change those.
