That's why I said "In the 8 years that we've lived with Felicity, she's never once scratched us on purpose. We used to get a few when she was younger and either climbed up a leg or launched into space. Even those have just about vanished. However, I can see plenty of scratch marks where she's tried to clamp on to a cushion or a shelf while running amok. By and large she's confined her claw work to her two trees; the commercially made one with the 5 levels, boxes, and tower, and the one I made for her out of poles wrapped with 1/2" hemp rope. Both look quite 'sueded' these days. I could never declaw a cat. I'd farm it out first.
