I debated but in the end opted not to post my photo for several reasons.
First, and probably most important, my dog is significantly more attractive and lovable. Second, truth be told, I don't like having my picture taken -- a throwback to my youthful days in the 1960s when the last thing one wanted was for J. Edgar Hoover or your local draft board to be able to easily identify you. Third, for the same reason I do not have a Facebook account and have never been to Facebook -- I like a little bit of privacy and anonymity, which is quickly lost when you post an identifying picture. Fourth, and finally, it gives my online colleagues something to look forward to should we ever meet in person
