then again if you are traveling and decide to stream a movie or, well, a single movie in HD sending it out to the TV in the room *poof* goes either all of a huge portion of your allotment.

It just bugs me with the duplicity of selling uber fast connections, OK 3G is not that fast in most places here in the US anymore (it actually was a few years back). But still you don't get to actually use the potential of that bandwidth. I can wait a few moments longer to download my email over dial-up speeds if that means not spending the $30/mo on the data plan. Then again my month-to-month data plan for travel while it's $70/mo there is no cap and no throttling. There is a soft-cap of 50GB where they might peek at how you are using it but unless you are running an internet cafe it's fine. I've done 200-300GB in a month no problem while on the road just using Netflix and Hulu.

No if hotels and motels had more uniform fast web access then I would be fine with a 5-10GB data plan. but when I am on the road I need the bandwidth for data in BOTH directions as i send a lot of large files 20-30MB each on a daily basis. And there can easily be 100-200 daily.
