I see that Verizon is also strongly suggesting phasing out their unlimited plans for the new iphones.
I'm still on Blackberry with unlimited but most months I use much less than unlimited but I don't trust them if I move to a smaller plan.

I don't think I have broken 200 megabytes in a month on my iPhone except one time when my home internet was out for a few days and I used tethering. I pay for a 500 megabyte a month plan, and wouldn't bother with anything higher. Particularly with a tablet, which I will likely use less than the phone while outside the range of a WiFi connection. But who knows...

My data usage rounded up to the nearest MB since September. December we had a storm which knocked out my cable internet for the better part of a week, so the phone was tethered a fair bit. Luckily, my provider allows tethering at no additional cost. Just comes off your bandwidth allowance like any other usage.
