Hi,

My kindle has a dead display. When I try to return it to Amazon. They tell me they need the SN to complete the return process. However, I bought it from staples and I have thrown away the receipt and case when I move to my new apartment. I always use USB to transfer files to this device and never register this device on amazon.

Because the display is not working, I wonder if I could use USB cable to find it out. More specifically, which file has the SN on record?
