Guildford, actually. Or, rather, a small village a few miles from Guildford. In England. Although I live here, I am an American. I am a semi-retired professor (n the American sense) of Computer Science.

I have just bought an eBookwise 1150, and am learning how to download things to read on it.

My interests are: quality fiction, including classics; non-fiction dealing with politics, history, philosophy, science, and society generally.

Probably like the rest of you, I enjoy reading; and travelling.

Some favorite contemporary authors: Patrick O'Brien, Mary Renault, Annie Proulx, David Lodge, Cormac McCarthy, Larry McMurtry.

If anyone knows of simple material, especially dual-language material, in Russian, French, Spanish or German, I would be grateful to learn about it.
