Aye, the UK govt is using that carrot to try and swing folk around to the ideas of self-generation. Whether we get sufficient sun, though, is a moot point that needs careful thought.
South (or near south) facing roof slopes we have, or plenty of open acreage. But at 57N the sun, even in summer, is still well diluted in strength.
