It should work for the other pages as well, but the margins don't necessary diappear completely (depending on how the book is made up).
For some reason it cuts more of the margin on the first page in the chapter for me as well, but it does cut the margin on the rest of the pages as well. Open page mode and deselct it and you might be surprised at how big the margins might become!
My (small) problem is that the setting doesn't always keep. I have to set it again. I do it without much thought, but I THINK it's after complete power-off that I have to do it again.
