XP Pro has the finer file rights control (not sure about 'HP Home'. Vista made you buy 'Ultimate' to get some of the basic features of 'Home' AND 'Business' together )

I think a "Duplicate Calibre Library" AND give them a throw away 'Guest Account' (Your personal records are a exposed to mischief) on your system, otherwise.

Baring other 'security' issues, the content server is a good alternate.
