windows file attributes lets you control who has write / delete access to what files..
i expect other OS have similar facilities, seems pointless to want to dup. them within calibre itself.

XP Pro has the finer file rights control (not sure about 'HP Home'. Vista made you buy 'Ultimate' to get some of the basic features of 'Home' AND 'Business' together

I think a "Duplicate Calibre Library" AND give them a throw away
'Guest Account' (Your personal records are a
exposed to mischief) on your system, otherwise.
Baring other 'security' issues, the content server is a good alternate.
