Count it as some form of overhead. Administration fee for the cost of the new lending model or whatever. Maybe the author gets a tiny bonus pittance, but the bulk will go to maximizing shareholder profits.

But like I said, I'm very cynical about the way that North American corporations are basically legally required to act like sociopaths and try and screw everyone at every opportunity in order to make more money.
