Questions for K1 owners who also own a K3

I have a K1 and I am thinking about getting a K3. I love my K1 but the screen now has a small crack, the 3 batteries I swap out (one of them new) can't seem to hold a charge, it's locking up, and the opening of new books is taking a while. Of course this last issue could be due to the fact that I have 48 pages of books, but I don't think so. I've had a lot of books for a long time now.

What do I need to know? What are your thoughts on the new versus the old? Will the K3 play Audible audiobooks? I checked the Audible website and in one place it indicates the K3 is compatible, yet in another it does not. I know there is no external storage slot but what is the actual storage capacity (besides "3,500 books")?

When I called technical support on about my recent issues, the kind young man gently suggested that maybe my Kindle was just nearing the end of its useful life. I refused to accept it at the time but, well, maybe it's time to move on.

What do you think? I appreciate your thoughts.
