Device: Sony PRS-650
@Pinecone, thanks for the recommendation.
After a lot of searching I also found the igadgitz models on Amazon. I decided to give the other model (with the vertical flip) a try. Reason: I like the idea of the multiple viewing angles; I do not know if I'll really use it, but I have a though of using the e-reader for viewing sheet music (or at least chords) while playing my keyboard. Being able to adjust the viewing angle might prove useful. Or more likely, the whole idea will probably prove silly...
Now waiting for both the case and the prs-650 to arrive and see how they work together - will update once I have my opinion set.

Also wanted to comment, that the situation where we all have to go hunting for a decent case for our new device is quite strange. We picked one of the best (if not the best) devices, carrying the most expensive price tag you can find. Why do I now have to settle for an inadequate sleeve solution from Sony, or hard to find 3rd-party solutions, or be confused with old prs-600 cases? Sony should understand that for some consumers (me included), such a situation brings the odd feeling of questioning if we made the right choice: if the device is so unpopular that almost nobody (including Sony) would bother making cases for it - is it really a good choice? Yes, yes - I still think it is. But I didn't buy the PRS-650 just to find that I'm swimming upstream, while it's so obvious that riding the Kindle/Nook wagon would have yielded a much easier journey (and no "out of stock" message for their e-reader showing for a full month...)
I rest my (yet to be delivered) case.
