This was also done in the grand court of the former John Wanamaker's department store in Philadelphia. (The Wanamaker family sold the business to Federated Department Stores, and it's now a Macy's.)

The store has the largest playing pipe organ in the world in the mezzanine, and noon time recitals were a tradition. When the organ started playing, activity came to a dead stop. Fortunately, the new owners seem to have retained the tradition.

The organ was used in the Philadelphia iteration of the event.
