Enough with the shorter books

Hey, please cut out the requests for shorter books for smaller readers. I'm 73 and I've been reading on small screens since Palm Pilots and Peanut Press. I've gone through PDAs, Palm phones, Windows phones and now Android. I like my reader available all the time so I can get in a few paragraphs or a chapter at lunch or during a break. I'm not lugging a Kindle or Nook around in my hand. It fits a dress shirt pocket or I don't own it.

As for book size, just because I read on a small screen doesn't mean I want a short story. I love the words and the details. I love series. I like to see the characters grow, mature and develop. I love the interaction between the regular characters and between them and new characters. Even if a minor character is going to be killed off or leave the plot, I still like to know about him or her. Don't go writing your books like they were a one-hour TV show. Some of us like to know what goes on in the character's heads.
