I beg to differ. I think the market does not need another Sony reader. In fact, the built-in EVDO network is exactly the reason I ditched my Sony reader. If you don't like it, you can always buy the sony reader. And I suspect that they will ever come up with a sans-evdo kindle since it seems that their strategy is center around the whispernet.
On the other hand, I speculate that Amazon may get a excellent deal out of Sprint considering that they are in deep water right now. Going forward, I can even imagine that Amazon/Sprint's deal set an excellent business model for other carriers seeking to monetize their data revenue.
