PDF management is actually pretty good. If you press the Aa button while on a page of your pdf (not the table of contents, as that will not go into landscape mode), you'll see setting #6 Orientation. Use your 5-way to select. Then use Trimming to trim margins. You will get a little cross at the top left, which you then move with your 5-way to the position closest to your text, then click your select button and do the same with the cross that appears on the right side of your text. This should give you pretty good results. And your settings will be saved for that particular book.
